We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Stormwater Construction Inspector to join our stormwater team. This position will be responsible for providing paraprofessional engineering support and inspecting on a variety of stormwater construction projects to ensure projects are installed based upon approved design plans, specifications, and City of Raleigh standards. The role requires a thorough understanding of stormwater, utility, and roadway construction processes, understanding of environmental regulations, and the ability to solve problems independently and within a team environment. This position involves significant field time working with the design engineers, contractor, and project manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides advanced specialized and technical activities in support of an assigned engineering function; serves as a liaison for internal and external clients and provides coordination of assigned projects or functions; may conduct site visits or inspections to monitor activities and ensure specifications and requirements are being met, and / or perform or oversee survey work
- Provides customer support and responds to inquiries, complaints and information requests; performs research or investigations; verifies and provides procedure / process information
- Attends and / or coordinates meetings including project reviews; prepares agenda, meeting notifications and materials; reviews change orders, budget status, schedules and / or other meeting materials; identifies issues; consults with engineers, contractors and / or agencies and coordinates resolutions; may attend and present at Council and public meetings
- Reviews and verifies data and documents which may include : project submittals; contractor billing, contract requirements and completed work and materials; construction plans; right of way plats; property deeds; GIS data; inspection reports; and / or other engineering-related information
- Prepares, updates and / or maintains project files, databases, tracking documents, activity / performance reports, GIS, maps, and / or standards documentation
- Monitors supplies and equipment; contacts vendors to discuss equipment options; and provides recommendations
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience :
Associate's degree in engineering or directly related field and three years of paraprofessional engineering experience, preferably in area of assignment
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
