What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dix Park Shuttle Driver position at City of Raleigh North Carolina?

This position will be responsible for driving a public shuttle to and from the all-new Gipson Play Plaza located in the historic Dorothea Dix Park. With the long-anticipated opening of Gipson Play Plaza we aim to accommodate large amounts of visitors by providing a weekend (Friday-Sunday) shuttle service. Shuttle drivers will often be the first introduction to this new space and set the tone for the exciting day ahead at the Plaza. With an intriguing history to the park and a brand-new play space like no other, there is no shortage of interesting information to share with guests along the way. To operate this shuttle, you must hold a current CDL. If you enjoy traveling in style and are excited about the idea of introducing our community to their newest outdoor amenity this job is perfect for you.
Applicants should be customer service oriented and comfortable working with all demographics. Applicants must have weekend availability, including some early mornings or late evenings. Applicants must have a CDL license with a passenger endorsement and air brake endorsement, a clean driving record, and be able to pass a background check and controlled substance test.
This job is part-time at 5-25 hours a week operating Friday-Sunday. The number of hours available to work varies seasonally and according to the driver's availability. Weekend availability is required.
