The City of Raleigh Information Technology Department is seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy individual to join our IT team as an End User Support Intern. This entry-level position provides a unique opportunity for hands-on experience in end user support, IT hardware configuration, and deployment within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The IT End User Support Intern will work closely with our IT professionals to ensure efficient and effective support for end users and contribute to hardware-related projects.
This internship opportunity is a paid position available to work approximately between May through August 2024. Position pay rates are dependent upon education and experience and range from $18 per hour for Undergraduate students and up to $20 per hour for Graduate students.- Assist in the setup, configuration, and deployment of IT hardware including desktops, laptops, and peripherals
- Provide first-level technical support to end users, addressing hardware and software issues
- Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems reported by end users
- Install and update software applications on end user devices
- Conduct hardware and software inventory management
- Assist in documenting IT processes and troubleshooting procedures
- Participate in IT projects related to hardware upgrades and technology rollouts
- Deliver excellent customer service by responding promptly to user inquiries and providing timely resolutions
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Basic understanding of IT hardware components and configurations
- Strong interest in end user support and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Mac operating systems
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Experience working in the public sector
- Hands-on experience in end user support and IT hardware configuration
- Exposure to a variety of IT projects and challenges
- Mentorship and guidance from experienced IT professionals

Salary : $7 - $21
