The City of Raleigh Parks is seeking an organized and energetic individual to join our School Based Programs team as an Assistant Coordinator. This leadership role supports the daily operations of a workgroup that includes a Track Out program and 1-2 Before and After School programs.

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and operating School Based Programs to ensure participant safety and engagement.
  • Assist in supervision and support of program staff, including managing daily operations at assigned locations.
  • Implement and help design engaging curriculum-based activities and plans. 
  • Communicate with families, process program feedback, and promote programs at public events. 
  • Create program materials such as schedules, newsletters, and event flyers. 
  • Perform administrative duties, including correspondence and record-keeping.
Education and Experience
Associate's Degree in parks and recreation or business administration and two years of paraprofessional recreation program experience.
 
OR
 
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Licensing and Certifications
  • Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • Must have a current CPR/First Aid certification or will be required to obtain certification within 2 months.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of relevant experience working with school aged children in a camp setting.

Salary : $42,027 - $64,326
