As the Senior Utilites Technician, you will be responsible for providing operational, technical and maintenance support for the City’s water, wastewater, collection and distribution systems. Work involves performing specialized activities and leading skilled or semi-skilled work completed by technical staff.

About Us:
This position is assigned to the Raleigh Water Meters Division. Responsible for ensuring safe, sustainable water is being supplied with minimal interruption to 650,000 residents and millions of visitors to the capital city annually. Division assignments also consist of reading, monitoring, maintaining, repairing, and replacing the cities 216,000 water meters, vaults, and appurtenances. New meter installations are completed at a rapidly growing rate. Larger size meters are required to meet annual testing standards. Meters Division Safety:
- Conducts job site field inspections to ensure compliance with safety procedures and practices
- Assists with safety program development, coordination, and delivery of training
- Maintains and inspects safety equipment
- Performs investigations of accidents to determine root cause
Residuals Operations:
- Meets with customers to provide educational information and opportunities to utilize Class A residuals
- Coordinates the delivery of leased equipment and materials
- Compiles and prepares billing information
- Performs site inspections to review ground conditions and verify compliance
High School Diploma or GED and three years of maintenance experience.

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Licensing and Certifications:
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
