Job Description
Raleigh Parks is looking for a year-round Assistant Tennis Professional to work at Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center. Successful candidates will be highly proficient tennis players who effectively communicate with groups of juniors and adults. Come join a team dedicated to broadening the base of junior and adult tennis players as they learn this sport of a lifetime!
Candidates must be available to teach groups:
Monday - Thursday: 10:00AM - 12:00PM, 4:00 - 8:00PM
Saturday: 9:00AM - 1:00PM
There is also the opportunity for additional hours teaching private lessons. The Assistant Tennis Professional works with the Head Tennis Professional to efficiently increase the number of juniors and adults who can independently play full court matches. The program focuses on effective and efficient lesson plans and instructor training to provide high quality low cost on court instruction. Ideal candidates would be outgoing and have confidence in front of groups. They would have great interpersonal skills with both juniors and adults and be open to following lesson plans.

Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center, a 23-court tennis facility in Northeast Raleigh and part of the Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department.
Duties and Responsibilities
On court tennis instruction:

Junior Adult groups organized by the City.
- Monday - Thursday: 10:00AM - 12:00PM, 4:00 - 8:00PM
- Saturday: 9:00AM - 1:00PM
- March – November
- Junior Adult Private instruction is organized by the instructor:
- Any times outside the times mentioned above.
- Other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Playing Qualifications
- NTRP rating of 3.5 or higher.
- High school / college team experience.
- Tournament experience.
Teaching Experience
- 2 years or more of Junior Adult group instruction.
- 2 years or more of Junior Adult private instruction.
- 1 year or more of team practice.
Licensing/Certifications
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- USPTA or PTR certification.

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions
