We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Systems Analyst to join our team. This pivotal role involves analyzing and optimizing business processes to enhance efficiency and improve organizational performance. The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate current workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement effective solutions. Strong technical writing, analytical skills, excellent communication, and a proactive problem-solving mindset are essential for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to streamline business processes, identify and mitigate risks and areas of improvement, and ensure technology program solutions are agile, responsive, and aligned with evolving business needs
- Documents process changes, instructions, and best practices to maintain operational clarity and consistency. Provides comprehensive training and support to end-users, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and technologies
- Develops, review, and maintains service level agreements aligning with organizational objectives and stakeholder needs. Additionally creates and implements optimally streamlined process solutions, documenting detailed process maps, flowcharts, and workflows to visualize current and future-state procedures
- Establishes, implements, and manages performance metrics that comprehensively track process improvement effectiveness, supporting departmental plans, strategic planning, and KPI reporting endeavors
- Serves as a liaison for software upgrades and managing technology integration, encompassing a multifaceted array of responsibilities aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and strategic planning and reporting
- Oversees SharePoint and eBuilder infrastructures and other shared platforms used by the division. Assists as needed with GIS coding, BIM, tracking, and programming associated with enterprise systems like Cityworks, as well as facilitating division mapping needs through platforms such as iMaps and ArcGIS
- Fosters collaboration and document management by effectively structuring document management platforms, ensuring ongoing smooth functioning aligned with department/division goals
- Participates in testing, training, and implementation activities to ensure successful project delivery

Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in information technology, business administration, or related field, and one year of business systems analysis experience
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Licensing and Certifications:
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire. This position requires access to a City vehicle to complete on-site asset verification, emergency response, and collaboration with field teams for programs managed
