Job Description
As a Dix Park Facility Specialist, you will serve as a welcoming and informative presence for visitors and renters at Dix Park. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service and support to park guests, offering guidance, information, and assistance as they explore the park's amenities and attractions. You will also help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the open facilities and contribute to the overall positive experience of park visitors and rental groups.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome visitors to the Dix Park and provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance and information about park amenities, programs, events, and points of interest.
- Answer inquiries from visitors in person, over the phone, and via email, providing accurate and helpful responses in a timely manner.
- Assist visitors with wayfinding and navigation throughout the park, offering recommendations for activities and facilities based on their interests.
- Coordinate and facilitate facility tour including scheduling, registration, and on-site support as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and attractiveness of the visitor center, including restocking brochures, maps, and other informational materials.
- Process sales transactions for park merchandise using point-of-sale systems.
- Stay informed about park policies, rules, and regulations, and communicate them effectively to visitors to promote safety and compliance.
- Provide on-site support during rental events and programs by overseeing use of facilities and amenities and addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Serve as a point of contact for renters during events, answering questions, providing assistance, and resolving problems in a prompt and professional manner.
- Monitor rental events and programs to ensure compliance with park rules and regulations, including noise ordinances, alcohol policies, and occupancy limits, taking appropriate action as needed to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
Typical Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in hospitality, event management, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service, event staff, or a similar role, preferably in a hospitality environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively and effectively with park visitors, renters, vendors, park staff, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team, to achieve common goals and objectives.
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate rental events and client needs.
- Proficiency in using computers and standard office software, including email, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
- Physical stamina and endurance to perform duties that may require lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
License and Certification:
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
- CPR/First AID Certification
