Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain GIS data to ensure accuracy, reliability, and timeliness for the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
• Develop and execute data processing workflows to support critical public safety operations.
• Collaborate with Emergency Dispatch and other city departments to gather business requirements and ensure GIS data meets operational needs.
• Maintain up-to-date metadata.
• Use automation tools to streamline data workflows and improve efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to data quality management frameworks, with a focus on public safety applications.

Typical Qualifications

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in information technology, geography, geographical information systems or directly related field and two years of professional level GIS programming, analysis, data management and/or cartographic products.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) or Esri Certification.
• Familiarity with CAD system integration and real-time data workflows.
• Experience with RDBMS spatial data management, REST web services, and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of Python scripting for data automation and ETL processes.

• Expertise in data processing, automation, and quality assurance for public safety applications.
• In-depth understanding of GIS data modeling and quality management.

• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Commitment to fostering collaboration and building strong cross-departmental relationships.
