There are currently 10 Coordinator assignments within the Department.

The City is looking to fill three (3) Coordinator positions. The current vacancies are for one (1) Seniors & Inclusive Programming Coordinator and two (2) Facility Rental Coordinators; however, assignments may be rotated, and applicants should be prepared to serve in any Coordinator assignment. The employment list resulting from this recruitment may be used for other department vacancies as they occur.

The Community Services Department is responsible for providing enriching, fun, and meaningful opportunities for the community to come together. The department operates the Epicenter Sports Complex, RC Family Resource Center, RC Sports Center, Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, Goldy S. Lewis Community Center, and James L. Brulte Senior Center. In addition to the above-listed facilities, more than 30 different parks are open to the community for passive use, park shelters and event rentals, hiking trails, athletic fields, and city-planned special events.

Seniors & Inclusive Programming at Central Park

The Seniors & Inclusive Programming Coordinator will manage programs and services at the James L. Brulte Senior Center, oversee city-wide senior program initiatives, and develop and deliver programs for the IncredABLES Inclusive program. This role includes leading a dedicated team and fostering a positive environment for both customers and staff.

You will be responsible for :

  • Planning and implementing monthly Senior and IncredABLES Inclusive programming special events.
  • Planning and implementing large community events such as the Annual Health & Wellness Fair and Adaptive Sports Fair.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to promote programs and services, including submitting website updates, marketing content, newsletter articles, and more.
  • Evaluating current and potential programs and services to fit the needs of the community.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating part-time employees.
  • Leading team of staff in providing exceptional customer service and experiences.
  • Utilizing facility booking software to manage events, dances, clubs, workshops, and use of space in the facility.
  • Collaborating with internal programmers and departments for facility operations and maintenance coordination.
  • Managing the James L. Brulte Senior Center, including the Wellness Pass Gym, Billiards Cove, Senior Center Clubs, Monthly Workshops, Senior Nutrition Program, Senior Services Program, and Partnership with the Rancho Cucamonga Seniors VIP Club.
  • Creating and executing annual partner agreements for programs and services.
  • Preparing budget recommendations for the allocation of personnel, equipment, and supplies.
  • Preparing monthly reports regarding facility usage, revenues, and expenses.
  • Monitoring internal operation procedures for effective facility rental / special event operations.
  • Rentals & Building Operations at Central Park

    The Central Park Rentals & Building Operations Coordinator will provide facility operations support to the programs and services offered at the James L. Brulte Senior Center and the Goldy S. Lewis Community Center, manage facility rentals, including outdoor special event areas at Central Park, and lead a team of staff maintaining a positive environment for both customers and employees.

    You will be responsible for :

  • Working effectively with potential and existing rental clients, including private-party individuals / groups, other governmental agencies, local organizations, and businesses.
  • Promoting and marketing facility rental opportunities and services at Central Park to potential businesses and corporate clients.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating part-time employees.
  • Leading team of staff in providing exceptional customer service and experiences.
  • Utilizing facility booking software to manage rentals and use of space in the facility.
  • Collaborating with internal programmers and departments for facility operations and maintenance coordination.
  • Managing and maintaining facility equipment inventory.
  • Preparing budget recommendations for the allocation of personnel, equipment, and supplies.
  • Preparing monthly reports regarding facility usage, revenues, and expenses.
  • Monitoring internal operation procedures for effective facility rental / special event operations.
  • Victoria Gardens Cultural Center (VGCC) Event Rentals & Sponsorships Coordinator

    The VGCC Event Rentals & Sponsorships Coordinator will be responsible for promoting, securing, and managing high-end event rentals at our premier cultural venue. With multiple unique event spaces, including a large event hall, an intimate black box studio, a spacious theater lobby, and a beautiful outdoor courtyard, this role will be instrumental in establishing VGCC as a sought-after event destination.

    In addition to rentals, this position will focus on securing sponsorships and strategic partnerships that help underwrite our performing arts programming and expand community access. Sponsorships may include in-kind contributions or financial assistance that support productions and season programming. This role requires a strong sales approach but is mission-driven, prioritizing relationships and creative partnerships that align with our arts and cultural initiatives.

    You will be responsible for :

    Event Rentals & Sales

  • Promoting and marketing event rental opportunities to communities, businesses, organizations, and individuals.
  • Managing sales outreach and client relations to secure high-quality rentals that complement the venue's performing arts schedule.
  • Working effectively with rental clients, including private individuals, communities, corporate clients, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies, to customize events to their needs.
  • Leading a team to ensure exceptional customer service and event execution.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating part-time employees.
  • Overseeing booking processes, contracts, and event logistics.
  • Preparing budget recommendations for rental revenue, staffing, and operational needs.
  • Tracking and reporting on facility usage, revenue, and expenses.
  • Monitoring and refining internal procedures for efficient event operations.
  • Sponsorships & Community Partnerships

  • Developing and securing sponsorships to support VGCC's performing arts programming and events.
  • Cultivating relationships with businesses, corporate partners, and local organizations for collaborations and cross-promotions.
  • Managing sponsorship benefits such as logo placements, playbill and website recognition, and promotional tie-ins.
  • Researching and identifying potential sponsors to align with VGCC's mission.
  • Overseeing sponsorship agreements and ensuring sponsor commitments are fulfilled.
  • Collaborating with the Community Affairs team to develop and implement marketing strategies for rentals and sponsorships.
  • Utilizing websites, social media, and community networks to promote event opportunities and partnerships.
  • Developing creative initiatives to position VGCC as a hub for events, entertainment, cultural programming, and community engagement.

    Education and / or Experience :

    Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree with major coursework in recreation or a related field and two years of experience in the implementation of cultural and recreation programs or activities or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.

    Examples of Acceptable Substitutions :

    Substitution : A total of six years of professional-level experience in the implementation of cultural and recreation programs or activities, may substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

    Knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and programs common to the field of recreation and leisure services; methods for identifying community recreation needs. Ability to effectively work with people having varied socio-economic standings; prepare and present concise written and oral reports; promote recreation and leisure programs; supervise aides and volunteers.

    Special Requirements :

    Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.

    First Aid and CPR certification required within 60 days of employment.
