The Engineering Services Department consists of four separate sections : Land Development, Project Delivery, Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Utility, and Transportation, with a total of thirty-three (33) staff members that span various roles.

THE POSITIONS
We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill a key management and high-level technical role. There is currently one vacancy, and depending on qualifications, the top candidate will be chosen to fill either a Principal or Senior role.
The Principal Engineer is a management level position responsible for supervision and oversight of the Land Development Section. We are looking for someone who is eager to manage, teach, and mentor our ambitious team of engineers. The ideal candidate will embody a facilitation mindset to assist projects through the development process and values mentoring and teaching staff to build succession plans.
The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for bringing a high level of technical expertise to assist our Associate and Assistant Engineers through complex development issues.
Land Development
This Section is responsible for engineering plan check related to private development projects, such as single-family home projects and commercial and industrial development projects.

- General Plan Implementation Reimagining of street cross-sections along our two largest corridors.
- Permitting and Plan-Checking Process Improvement Help us continue to find efficiencies in our process.
- Mentoring and Teaching Help us develop future generations of Engineering leaders!

Principal Engineer : $9,469 - $12,771 per month
Senior Civil Engineer : $9,055 - $12,211 per month

Principal Engineer
Education and / or Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and five years of progressively responsible professional experience.
Senior Civil Engineer
Education and / or Experience :
Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and four years of progressively responsible professional experience.
Both Positions
Special Requirements :
Possession of a certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers.
