Primarily responsible for governing supervising and acting as umpire/referee for adult sports games. Works to promote the safety of all participants during games.

Exposure to moving objects such as sports balls, bats, etc.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The current opening is for Softball to start in late April.
This position works under the direction of the Community Center/Recreation Department Supervisor.- Respond immediately and effectively to any emergency.
- Afterwards report emergency immediately to supervisor, and file report
- Maintain standards of the game and ensure that the applicable sport rules are enforced.
- Use appropriate signals and mechanics.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.
- Ability to penalize and diffuse unsporting behavior as game rules allow.
- Setup and take down sports equipment as required.
- Communicate any problems or concerns to the supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Equivalent training and experience that will demonstrate required knowledge, abilities, and skills.
- Must have great customer relations and communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong decision-making skills
- Prior experience as an umpire or referee is a plus
Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
- Knowledge of sport specific rules and regulations.
- Deal effectively and courteously with the public.
- Work in all weather conditions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- First Aid and CPR training is required.
