What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clerk III (Part-Time PARS) position at City of Redding?
The City of Redding - Electric Department (REU) seeks a quality individual who is able to make a commitment to a part-time position with our Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Asset Management division team. The schedule averages 20 hours per week.
The T&D Division is responsible for maintaining all of the Electric Department’s transmission and distribution facilities to ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective power to City of Redding customers.
The ideal candidate would be proficient with computers, able to multitask, capable of working independently and/or collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and exhibit excellent customer service. Typical duties for this part-time position could include file scanning, data entry, word processing, and file maintenance/organization.
- Process a variety of forms and other documents calling for review or development of data, and the use of clerical procedural steps calling for thorough knowledge of program structure.
- Employ word-processing, data-base, and other software applications.
- Coordinate and/or review the work of clerical employees.
- Set up, prepare, organize, and maintain files and complex filing systems.
- Schedule appointments and assist the public and City staff in the office or by the telephone.
- Act as a liaison with other agencies, City departments or the public with regard to policies and procedures of the division or department in which the position is located.
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
- Knowledge of operation of standard office machines
- Knowledge of alphabetic and numeric filing procedures
- Ability to interact effectively with the public and employees
- Ability to perform a variety of basic clerical skills, and demonstrate tact, courtesy, and cooperation in handling the public and all those with whom the employee comes into contact in the performance of duties
Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying
- Typical education would include high school diploma, or equivalent.
- Typical experience would include three years of relevant clerical experience depending on class specification.

Salary : $21 - $27
