Job Description
Design, lead and promote fitness and wellness programs that cater to the needs of older adults. Provide guidance on proper exercise techniques to prevent injuries. Ensure all fitness equipment is used correctly and safely. Maintain up to date knowledge and certifications as required for job. Assist center director in developing and providing events and activates. May assist with hosting and preparing athletes for NC Senior Games. Performs a variety of administrative support duties including secretarial tasks, such as answering the telephone, registering visitors, receiving payments, scheduling classes. Assists with special events associated with the RCARE-Senior Center.
SALARY: $12.00 – 15.00 /Per Hour depending on experience.

Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 or have graduated from high school.
Finalist must submit to a Background Check, Drug Screening. EOE
Preferred Qualifications
- Silver Sneaker/Flex certification preferred.
- Ace or American Council on Aging Certification
- Proven work experience as a fitness instructor working with the older adult population.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain training within a reasonable timeframe after employment.
- Ability to work well with older adults
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team member, work productively without close supervision, and respond courteously to citizens.
Physical Demands
Work in this position is described as moderately strenuous. An employee must be able to perform the basic life operational support functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching above shoulder level, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
