Work Schedule
Less than 233 hours per quarter and may be year round or233 hours or more in a quarter with a maximum of six months employment orNot to exceed 1,039 work hours within any fiscal yearEssential Functions
Include, but are not limited to :
Monitors the facility and staff during weekend and evening hours.Enforces policies, rules, regulations, and ordinances governing the conduct of facility patrons.Guards the pool during facility use. Enters the water to rescue patrons in distress; resuscitates rescued swimmers, administers first aid to injured, calls Emergency Medical Services (EMS) on serious accident cases.Under direction, oversees water safety, swimming and diving, and assists with special events.Plans daily program activities / schedules.Assists in instructing new employees on the duties of operating a facility or program.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
Age : 16
Education : One year of high school
Experience : One year paid lifeguard experience
Certifications : Lifeguard Training, CPR / AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid
Preferred Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent
Experience : Two years paid lifeguard experience
Certifications : Water Safety Instructor, Certified Pool Operator

Working Conditions
Conveys and exchanges verbal and written information.Tasks require physical condition necessary for walking, standing, sitting and performing swimming rescues.Walking on various surfaces including uneven ground that may be slippery.Work may be performed outdoors in a variety of weather extremes.Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights.May come into contact with pool chemicals.No Benefits Offered for this position
