General Summary

The Richland Public Library is looking for someone to join their technical team on a regular full-time basis. The expected schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, with at least one evening shift. The ideal candidate would possess skills in cataloging and the Interlibrary Loan Services (ILL).

TARGET HIRING RANGE $26.23 TO $31.48 HOURLY (DOQ)

GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs administrative support work providing a variety of responsible library and clerical duties, assisting in the organization of the library and library materials, and related work as apparent or assigned. Works a varied schedule to include days, evenings and weekends. Work is performed under the close to moderate supervision of the Library Supervisor or designee.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TECHNICAL OPTION)
High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of customer service experience with at least six (6) months of experience working in a library.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and experience with originating and handling incoming and outgoing Interlibrary loans, using the appropriate OCLC program.
  • Knowledge of copy cataloging bibliographic records using the appropriate OCLC program for importing records.
  • Knowledge of and experience with using an ILS in a public library setting (such as Evergreen).

Selection will be based on overall qualifications and a panel interview. Final candidate selected will be required to complete a comprehensive background/reference check and a pre-employment physical commensurate to the position.
