General Summary

The City of Richland is looking for a well-qualified Parks and Public Facilities Supervisor to join our team.
This position will supervise the Parks Division whose primary responsibility is managing and maintaining the City's beloved park system. Additional responsibilities include supervising seasonal employees, and managing parks related maintenance projects for the department.

Target Hiring Range: $84,635.20 - $101,566.40 Annually (DOQ)

GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs difficult skilled human support work planning and implementing the activities of all Parks and Public Facilities maintenance areas, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Parks and Public Facilities Director (“supervisor”). Continuous supervision is exercised over assigned personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Obtain First Aid and CPR Certifications within three (3) months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED and three (3) years experience in facility and park maintenance, irrigation, HVAC, swimming pool operations and maintenance, playground installation or related field, including two (2) years in a lead or supervisory role.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Parks and Resource Management, Constructions Management, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced municipal parks department.
  • Prior experience working in an environment with significant cultural resources and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP).

Supplemental Information

Selection will be based on overall qualifications, skills testing (if applicable) and an interview process. Final candidate selected will be subject to a comprehensive background/reference check and pre-employment physical commensurate to the position.
