The Senior Assistant City Attorney will provide comprehensive legal counsel on a wide range of municipal law matters, including employment and labor-related issues. This position is crucial in advising on employment practices, labor relations, workplace policies, investigations, grievances, labor negotiations, EEOC complaints, and disciplinary actions. The role involves collaborating with the Human Resources Department, drafting and interpreting policies, managing outside counsel, and offering strategic legal guidance.
- A Juris Doctor degree
- Active membership in the California State Bar
- Ability to gain admission to practice law in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California
- A valid California driver's license
- Five to seven years of experience practicing law, with at least four years in public sector and/or municipal law
