General Definition of Work
Performs skilled technical work at the Cordell Municipal Pool, overseeing the safety of all patrons. Work is performed under general supervision of pool manager and the Assistant Superintendent.

Essential Functions
Assist or teach swim lessons.
Administers first aid when needed.
Keeps facility and surrounding areas clean and safe, including pool deck and shower rooms.
Respond to emergency situations and accidents.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the principals, practice, and, rules of pool operations and maintenance; ability to maintain a clean, organized work environment; ability to work with others, including the ability to interact professionally with the public, including individuals who may display challenging or difficult behavior; Ability to follow safety procedures and regulations; ability to swim.
Education and Experience
Prior experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
This job involves moderate physical effort, including occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Regular tasks include speaking, hearing, handling objects, and repetitive motions. Frequent activities involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and pushing or pulling, with occasional standing, walking, sitting, climbing, and balancing. The job requires standard vision, clear vocal communication, and the ability to hear and distinguish sounds accurately. Duties include monitoring surroundings. The work environment includes regular exposure to outdoor weather, frequent extreme heat (non-weather), and occasional risks such as moving parts, heights, airborne particles, electrical shock, and bloodborne pathogens. Personal protective equipment may be required. Noise levels are generally moderate (e.g., office or light traffic).
Special Requirements
Valid work permit if required.
CPR, first aid, and Life Guarding Certification prior to employment.
