What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer, Senior position at City of Richmond?
- Prepares, coordinates, reviews, and monitors preparation of risk assessments and corresponding risk remediation plans. Collects, gathers, interprets, and analyzes risk data for mitigation.
- Conducts engineering investigations for code and compliance related changes that may affect the operation of the natural gas distribution system. Performs inspections to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal codes, and other regulations.
- Evaluates detailed regulations and applicable codes for gas operations; identifies potential conflicts with state and local laws. Recommends necessary adjustments upon investigation or inspection.
- Maintains logs/records for the Distribution Integrity Management Program; tracks systems and specialized databases and enters data. Reviews, prepares, and maintains, technical reports and other related documents.
- Meets with natural gas utility SME stakeholders regularly to coordinate the resolution review process; draft any new or additional documentation of remediation processes or resolutions.
- Manages other gas projects and related activities through the project lifecycle including coordinating human and material resources, securing permits, recommending, or approving materials, schedules, applications, pay estimates, and contract awards, developing budgets and budgeting proposals; provides quality control and ensures compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering
- Three years of engineering experience
LICENSING, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Some assignments may require a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record and a valid Commonwealth of Virginia Driver's License within 30 days of hire
