What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance and Operations Crew Chief position at City of Richmond?
- Supervising equipment operators and pipeline technicians that maintain and repair wastewater infrastructure
- Assembling tools, materials and equipment for daily work assignments; transporting personnel to and from work site
- Driving and operating small equipment and machinery
- Performing routine maintenance inspections of piping systems
- Responding to work orders
- Maintaining equipment, machinery, or vehicles in good working order while observing established safety protocols and procedures for safe operation
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of college or specialized training in area of focus
- Two years of equipment operation/driving experience or maintenance experience in the area related to assignment
- An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five or more years of experience in Supervision within the Stormwater/Wastewater and the Utility/Construction Fields
- Three years of Asset management experience.
LICENSING, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Some assignments may require a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
- Some assignments may require a valid Commonwealth of Virginia Driver's License within 30 days of hire
- Some assignments may require a valid Commonwealth of Virginia Commercial Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
