Job Summary
The Street Sweeper position is responsible for the city’s cleanliness.
Part Time – 32 hours or less per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Operate vehicle controls to power sweeper brushes and water sprayer to aid in debris and dust collection.
· Dump collected debris and refuse in designated dumping zones.
· Perform minor maintenance on street sweeper, regular cleaning, checking fluids and tire pressure, filling/emptying tanks.
· Operate power washer to clean vehicles and equipment.
· Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
· High School diploma or GED.
· Supplemented by four years previous experience in general operations, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Required Certifications, Licenses, and/or Skills
· Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
· Must pass drug screening and background check.
· Ability to operate a Street Sweeper and Automobile.
Physical Demand
Medium Work – Involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying objects weighting up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
The work is typically performed in a vehicle and outdoors and may require extended periods of sitting and standing.
