Lead and/or instruct ensuring participants receive a quality recreational experience in a safe environment within the City of River Falls’ recreation programming for youth.
These positions are geared towards those who enjoy working with kids both in and outdoors. Interested applicants should have a special skill to teach or have experience or a desire to instruct youth. These positions will support and implement the goals, objectives, and planned activities working under the general supervision of the Recreation department.

Recreation Leads:
- Design and instruct activities from prepared lesson plans.
- Prepare and organize materials and supplies.
- Playing and interacting with children.
- Communicating regularly with parents/guardians.
- Youth instruction includes but is not limited to:
- Sports
- Arts/Crafts
- Games
- Science
- Outdoor Activities.
- Instructors will be scheduled for a variety of programs including mini camps, sports, crafting, and community events.
- Establish and maintain tactful and effective working relationships with co-workers, program participants, caregivers, and the public.
Recreation Instructors:
SPECIAL SKILLS EXPERIENCE FOR: Tennis, Football and Cheerleading |
- Knowledge and understanding of subject matter of the sport/class/camp.
- Knowledge and understanding of instructional practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of safety and basic first aid.
- Skilled in organizing time and activities.
- Skilled in controlling a group of children.
- Must be creative, energetic, and encouraging.
- Interact with children, parents, and colleagues in a positive manner.
Minimum
- 16 years of age.
- Available to work a flexible schedule which includes weekdays and evenings.
- Previous experience working with children.
- Current CPR and first aid certifications.
WORKING CONDITIONS
