The City of Riverside, General Services Department is accepting applications for the position of Building Services Project Manager to fill one (1) vacancy in the Property Services. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.
Under administrative direction, a Building Services Project Manager is to plan, supervise, and manage Building Services Projects; to perform a variety of complex, technical, and conceptual planning and design studies for the construction and alteration of City facilities; to participate and oversee the scheduling, coordination, and construction management of building services projects; and to do related work as required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
- Provide management of project design and construction phases, develop project estimates and schedule, monitor project schedules and budgets. and complete work orders for the construction and alteration of City facilities.
- Provide direction and prepare project scope and job specifications; assist in evaluating bids for various building services projects.
- Negotiate project change orders relative to scope and costs.
- Supervise large and complex construction and alterations projects insuring conformance with plans and specifications, use of proper methods, materials, workmanship, and safety measures.
- Coordinate and schedule final inspections and acceptance of projects.
- Plan and schedule the inspection of buildings and facilities, plan and schedule maintenance repairs.
- Develop and coordinate a preventive maintenance program.
- Confer with superior regarding setting of priorities and progress of construction/alteration projects and activities.
- Coordinate building maintenance activities with other City departments, divisions, sections, and with outside agencies.
- Assist in the preparation of the capital improvement plan, betterments and improvements, and budget.
- Develop requests for proposals and bid documents for construction projects.
- Manage multiple construction projects concurrently.
- Draft council reports and presentations.
- Schedule and attend project progress meetings to ensure end user expectations are met.
Possession of an appropriate, valid class “C” California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
- Three years or more experience with Public Procurement Processes
- Three years or more experience managing Grant Funded Projects
- Five years or more of building successful customer engagement experiences
- Three years or more of Commercial Lease Management experience
- Three years or more of Cell Tower Lease Management experience.
