What are the responsibilities and job description for the Embedded Criminologist - TEMPORARY (part-time) position at City of Roanoke, Virginia?
The City of Roanoke is seeking a certified criminologist to prepare reports on existing departments operations, methods and procedures to enhance the effectiveness of achieving the police departments' goal of crime reduction and crime management on a part-time schedule. Gather and analyze data about the causes and nature of crime to determine criminal patterns and common traits among criminals. Research statistics, and other crime data from computer databases to identify patterns of crime, assist with identifying or targeting suspects, and patrolling of problem areas.
Prepare reports and statistics of research findings for future reference. Assist law enforcement and the justice system with developing crime prevention strategies and reform policies based on findings. Assess the social impact of crime and determine how to address these issues. This position will work 25-30 hours a week
