The City of Roanoke Parks and Recreation Department is hiring two Seasonal Maintenance Workers to support the maintenance and preparation of athletic fields for youth and adult sports programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain athletic fields, including mowing, edging, dragging, and lining.
Set up equipment such as bases and goals.
Ensure fields are safe, clean, and game-ready.
Operate various grounds maintenance tools and equipment.
Assist with site cleanup and general upkeep.
Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of athletic field setup and maintenance.
Ability to operate landscaping and maintenance equipment.
Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.
Valid Virginia driver’s license required.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
One to three months of relevant experience preferred, or a combination of training and experience.

This is a temporary position.Salary : $31,200 - $35,069
