What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Services Associate/Part-Time position at City of Rochester (NY)?
The Youth Services Associate will assist in the creation, development, and enhancement of new and existing programs and special services for the Department of Recreation and Youth Services. The Youth Services Associate works under the general supervision of the Program Development Specialist. Related work is performed as required.
This is a Competitive Class position. The individual selected to fill this vacancy will be given a provisional appointment and will be required to participate in the next Civil Service Examination for this title.
A qualified applicant may be provisionally appointed and serve in the position until a Civil Service Examination is administered and an appropriate eligible list can be established to make a permanent appointment in accordance with the Civil Service Rule of Three. Two (2) years of experience providing program assistance in a human services, educational, recreation, or similar setting.

CITY RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION
- Assists in planning, implementing and hosting special events for the Department of Recreation and Youth Services;
- Researches and develops new programs and curriculum that focus on youth growth and development;
- Facilitate workshop, programs and youth training as requested to program participants as requested;
- Build relationships with community partners regarding special events and programs;
- Assist with outreach, recruitment and marketing of program and activities;
- Provide training and development;
- Collaborates with other youth serving Bureaus and community organization to make best use of allocated event and program funding;
- Provide monitoring and updates to the Program Development Specialists and Recreation Management team regarding program outputs;
- Attends meetings with the Youth Services Coordinator to provide information related to program funding;
Two (2) years of experience providing program assistance in a human services, educational, recreation, or similar setting.
