What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant City Engineer position at City of Rochester?
Come join the Bureau of Architecture and Engineering at the City of Rochester as our Assistant City Engineer! This position, which falls under the Department of Environmental Services, is a management position that will oversee capital projects for over 500 linear miles of City right-of-way and over 190 city buildings and facilities. If you're interested in playing a key role in large initiatives such as Aqueduct Re-Imagined and the Inner Loop North projects and you want to make a lasting impact on our community, this position is for you! This position is on-site at City Hall, with limited telework options available.
City Residency is preferred but not required.
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications listed below:
A. Master's degree in Civil, Structural, and/or Transportation Engineering AND four (4) years of experience managing civil engineering projects, three (3) years of which were in a supervisory capacity;
OR
B. Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, and/or Transportation Engineering AND six (6) years of experience as described in A.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Possession of a New York State Professional Engineer's license or ability to obtain registration through a reciprocity agreement.
- Possession of a New York State Class D Drivers license.
