JOB
Under direct supervision performs all types of manual labor including mowing grass, raking leaves and shoveling snow. Performs other work assignments involving the maintenance of City equipment, properties and facilities.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Mows grass, rakes leaves, cuts weeds on City owned properties.
Picks up and disposes of debris and litter on City owned properties.
Shovels snow from sidewalks and steps; spreads salt by hand on ice covered walkways.
Performs all types of manual labor activities related to the general maintenance of City facilities, water distribution and sewer collection systems.
Performs other duties as requires or assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Requires ability to tolerate extremes of weather, as well as perform continuous; standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, reaching, squatting and heavy lifting (as defined by OSHA Work Practices Guide). Specific requirements for lifting and frequencies are stated in terms of the maximum expectations of the position.
