The Pool Attendant position is a front line, seasonal summer position at the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center with an emphasis on safety, customer service, and facility maintenance (cleaning).

Pool Attendants are responsible for the safety and well-being of all who use the facility. They should instruct and advise customers on the safe use of pools, play features, and equipment. Monitor the pool decks, grounds, locker rooms, and surrounding area to maintain a safe environment, and enforce all rules and policies of the Swim and Fitness Center to prevent accidents. Maintains cleanliness on and around pool decks, grounds, locker rooms, and other areas. Provide customer service and answer questions from the general public. Dispatch riders from the top of the slide. Administer first aid to individuals when needed; works under the supervision of a Pool Supervisor. Â Pool Attendants regularly participate in training and are required to maintain certifications (listed below) throughout their employment. Â Must be able to work a varied schedule, including morning, weekend, and evening shifts; with a minimum availability of 20 hours per week. Performs other duties as assigned.
Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications (American Red Cross preferred). Â Must demonstrate basic swimming skills, a desire to train to become a Lifeguard and/or Swim Instructor and effective verbal communication skills. Candidates must successfully complete a Swimming Skills Evaluation prior to being hired as part of the interview process.

 Prior experience working with youth preferred.

 High school student and must be at least 16 years of age.
