What are the responsibilities and job description for the RECREATION SUPERVISOR II (CHILDREN'S MUSEUM) position at City of Rocky Mount?
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
DEFINITION: This position is responsible for providing support to full time employees of the Imperial Centre primarily in the Children's Museum, with occasional work in the areas of the Art Galleries, Education Building, Rentals, Special Events and Theatre. Support includes patron supervision, program assistance, event assistance, etc. Flexibility is required.
REPORTS TO: This position reports to the Recreation Services Supervisor (Imperial Centre).
HOURS OF WORK: Work Schedule may vary to include the following, days, evenings and weekends. Not to exceed 20 hours per week.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Support programming of exhibits, programs, rentals and special events; including but not limited to facility supervision, patron supervision, instruction / interpretive education, basic cleaning, etc.
- Facilitate end of shift closing procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with a high school diploma or equivalent. Higher education preferred
- Experience working with the public; experience with children preferred.
- Expertise in one of the areas of the Imperial Centre.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
