Position Summary

The City of Rosemount is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker for the Streets division of its Public Works Department. This position is responsible for conducting repairs and maintenance on city streets, sidewalks, and paths; assisting with snow and ice removal; sweeping and cleaning streets and parking lots; performing concrete and asphalt maintenance; and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the Public Works Supervisor.
Essential Duties
- Conducts snow removal seasonally; utilizes equipment and vehicles to remove snow from streets, sidewalks, and parking lots; lays salt and ice removal chemicals as needed.
- Conducts street and parking lot sweeping; removes debris as needed.
- Assists with asphalt, concrete, and gravel maintenance of city streets, parking lots, bike paths, and sidewalks.
- Repairs and maintains ditches; performs ditch mowing, re-grading, re-seeding, and installing erosion control.
- Installs and replaces street signs and related road infrastructure.
- Performs other work as required of the public works maintenance division to ensure support and task completion as necessary including parks, streets and utilities.

This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting and tasting or smelling.

Environmental Conditions
Work regularly requires exposure to wet humid conditions (non-weather), working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to outdoor weather conditions, frequently requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to extreme cold (non-weather), exposure to extreme heat (non-weather) and exposure to vibration and occasionally requires working in high, precarious places, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to the risk of electrical shock, and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a loud noise location (e.g. grounds maintenance, heavy traffic).
