Position Summary
The Seasonal Gardener focuses on all areas of horticulture and gardening; responsibilities include working with a crew on installation, care, and maintenance of flowers and other plant materials at various sites throughout the city.
This position will work approximately April through October. General working hours will be 7 : 00am to 3 : 00pm Monday - Friday with occasional weekend hours. Work schedule may vary depending on the weather and time of year.
Position open until filled. First review of applications will be on Wednesday, March 12th.

- Installation, maintenance, and removal of annuals, perennials, plants, shrubs and trees at various garden sites and planter locations.
- Ensure that all plants at these sites are adequately weeded, watered, pruned, and fertilized to remain healthy and attractive throughout the growing season.
- Demonstrate courtesy and tact when dealing with the public and other staff.
- Work independently and take initiative in solving issues.
- Communicate effectively via verbal and written reports and forms.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
