Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen and 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License
- Proof of Police Academy Graduation & State Certification, per M.C.O.L.E.S.
- Or currently employed as a Police Officer with M.C.O.L.E.S. certification
- Or proof of current enrollment in a Police Academy with an anticipated graduation date
- Or 2-years of out-of-state police experience with M.C.O.L.E.S. certification

New Hires With No Experience:
- Starting pay: $61,939
- Top base wage of $75,142 at 48 months of service
- Uniforms and duty equipment supplied
- 40 hours of vacation earned upon completion of step 4 of FTO program
- Immediate healthcare (BC/BS is current provider)
- Academy reimbursement of up to $5,000 at the completion of 2-years of service
Lateral Transfers:
- Starting pay: $61,939
- Upon completion of step 4 of the FTO program, employee earns base wage of $68,614
- Top base wage of $75,142 at 24 months of service
- Uniforms and duty equipment supplied
- 40 hours of vacation time at 6 months of service
- Immediate healthcare (BC/BS is current provider)

The Roseville Police Department offers a competitive benefits package with a defined pension plan. Unlike many other communities, our defined benefit pension plan is based on GROSS WAGES, not base salary (2.5 Multiplier). Officers receive health, dental and life insurance. A deferred compensation plan is available to assist officers in preparing for their future financial security. Officers receive paid vacation, sick time, personal time, comp time, holiday pay (contractual 8 extra hours pay, whether it is worked or not, plus hourly holiday pay for officers working a holiday), and paid training. Retirement Health Savings Account (RHSA) employer contribution. Officers are also eligible for a Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP).
