What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3/4x Passport Representative position at City of Roseville?
The Passport Center Representative is responsible for accepting passport applications and assist customers navigating the application renewal process in compliance with Federal regulations. To support auto dealer staff by processing motor vehicle title, licensing, and registration as well as DNR regulated licenses.The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation. This position requires the employee to work with others, around others and have direct contact with the public. This position will work inside an office with occasional noise, light physical effort, and high level of detail, constant adjusting of priorities, and a high level of patience.
Activities that occur constantly (5–8 hours/shift): talking, hearing
Activities that occur frequently (2–5 hours/shift): standing, walking, sitting, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination
Activities that occur occasionally (up to 2 hours/shift): reaching, handling, grasping, feeling
Activities that occur rarely (do not exist as regular part of job): lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling
- Review, accept, and execute passport applications.
- Calculate and collect proper fees for all passport applications.
- Assist in processing auto dealership motor vehicle transactions as directed by Lead Passport Representative.
- Answer customer inquiries by phone, email or in person.
- Resolve routine problems associated with the issuance of passports.
- Assist other departments and employees as necessary.

- Perform related activities as directed.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must provide proof if US citizenship.
- Verification of USCIS employment eligibility and current legal presence as required by the Department of Homeland Security.
- One (1) year of customer service experience in a fast paced, stressful environment.
- Basic understanding of cash handling processes, experience using a calculator and/or cash register.
- Ability to complete annual Federal training to maintain acceptance agent status.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of computer skill and email communication.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and vehicle or other means to deliver applications to locations such as post office and auto dealerships.
- Ability to multi-task and change priorities quickly.
