What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Nature Center Program Staff position at City of Roseville?
- Collaborate with Naturalist staff in the implementation of education programs
- Uphold a friendly, positive, responsible, approach with participants and parents
- Set up, clean up, and maintain program and exhibit spaces, supplies, and equipment
- Provide a safe environment for participants and enforce established safety policies
- Support HANC operations, projects, special events, animal care, and other tasks as assigned
- Continually shows respect for diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and interests. Exhibits sensitivity to the needs of diverse audiences in all duties performed on behalf of the City to support Roseville in building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working environment and community.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- High School Graduate or Graduate Equivalency Degree (GED)
- Experience with and knowledge of working cross culturally and with diverse youth preferred. Ideal candidate will have experience working with children and working outdoors.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
Work is performed largely outdoors, with some time in a classroom or office environment. There is exposure to a multitude of elements including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind. Occasionally the job may involve working with challenging behaviors, particularly from youth. The position may require some weekend and occasional evening work.
Limited lifting of 20 pounds or less is required less than 15% of the time.
HANC Program Staff is responsible for varied technical, complex, and confidential functions, many of which have deadlines and require significant attention to detail. Approximately 70-90% of the time, work is performed at the highest level of detail under the pressure of deadlines.
