About the Role
The City of Roswell is seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as Deputy Director of Finance – Planning & Analysis. This position plays a key role in ensuring the City’s financial integrity, transparency, and long-term sustainability. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this leader will drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning for the organization. Success in this role means advancing financial stewardship, supporting innovation across departments, and enhancing transparency in reporting and resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and oversight of the City’s annual budget and long-term financial plans.
- Provide strategic analysis and reporting to senior leadership, Council, and departments.
- Manage capital planning, forecasting, and performance tracking aligned with City priorities.
- Support and lead business reviews, highlighting variances and corrective actions.
- Guide, mentor, and develop finance staff to build internal leadership capacity.
- Promote innovation and technology in financial systems and processes.
- Collaborate across departments to build a strong internal service culture within Finance.
- Serve as a key liaison with financial advisors, bond counsel, and external partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible government finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, budgeting principles, and municipal finance operations.
- CPA, CPFO, or CGFM preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership in financial strategy, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
