Below is a brief description of each position:
Guest and Food Services - $12.00 / hour
Operates cash register at the ticket booth, gift shop, and concession stand at Wet Zone Waterpark. Collects money from guests and gives correct change, schedules parties, enrolls participants in classes, and prepares food and food orders for guests and follows instructions to properly heat and hold all food items prepared in the concessions stand. Follows all fire, health and safety codes while preparing and storing all food items throughout the day. Assists with opening and closing procedures. Turns in daily sales, revenue and paperwork from assigned register and shift. Maintains a clean, safe environment at all times. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requires ability to read and write, count money and make change and work well with customers in a friendly manner. Cashiering and food handling experience is preferred but not required. Food handler's permit required prior to May 16, 2025. Staff will be required to pay for their own certification and uniforms.
Lifeguard/Maintenance - $12.50 / hour
Performs lifeguard duties; guards pool, rescues swimmers in need, administers first aid, enforces adherence to safety rules in the pool, completes forms and performs safety inspections daily. Maintains pool and water park area; maintains mechanical equipment, checks backwash, cleans screens, picks up trash, cleans decks, vacuums, cleans bathrooms and performs other janitorial work as needed; attends in-service training on a weekly basis. Reads and follow all safety precautions listed on chemicals prior to handling. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requires ability to read and write and work well with customers in a friendly manner. Ability to use judgment to determine action needed during emergency situations. Ability to handle people effectively in emergency situations, good oral communication skills to teach lessons and educate the public. Experience as a lifeguard is preferred, but not required. American Red Cross Shallow Water Lifeguard Certification will be required prior to operating season, and training can be provided. Staff will be required to pay for their own certification. Experience in pool equipment management preferred, but not required. Staff will be required to pay for their own certification and uniforms.
Lifeguard/Swim Instructor - $13.00 / hour
Performs lifeguard duties; guards pool, rescues swimmers in need, administers first aid, enforces adherence to safety rules in the pool, completes forms and performs safety inspections daily. Maintains pool and water park area; picks up trash, cleans decks, cleans bathrooms and performs other janitorial work as needed; attends in-service training on a weekly basis. Provide swim lessons, private or group, to youth and adult swimmers of all levels and abilities based on American Red Cross (ARC) standards and program requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requires ability to read and write and work well with customers in a friendly manner. Ability to use judgment to determine action needed during emergency situations. Ability to handle people effectively in emergency situations, good oral communication skills to teach lessons and educate the public. Experience as a lifeguard is preferred, but not required. American Red Cross Shallow Water Lifeguard Certification and Water Safety Instructor training will be required prior to operating season, and training can be provided. Staff will be required to pay for their own certification and uniforms. Experience in teaching swim lessons preferred, but not required.
All positions:
- Require regular attendance and arriving to work on time.
- Require the ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees and maintain a good relationship with all age groups and the general public.
- Will work a varying schedule, including weekends and holidays as designated by the Water Park Supervisor.
- Must be at least 15 years of age prior to May 1, 2025.
- Involve working outside in the heat, sun, high humidity and wind; working on or around slippery surfaces and in a noisy environment. Depending on position, exposure to chlorine, pool and cleaning chemicals, restaurant equipment and power equipment. Lifeguards must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
