Job Title: Assistant Aquatic Manager (On-the-Job Training Provided) Annual $38,750
Position Overview: The City of Russellville is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Aquatic Manager. This position is designed to provide on-the-job training, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to grow in aquatic management. Under the supervision of the Aquatic Manager, the Assistant Aquatic Manager will help oversee the daily operations of the pool facility, assist in staff supervision, and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests. Must be able to swim and pass a swim test.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Performing daily maintenance of two pools including a splash pad and therapy pool, dehumidifiers, filters, heaters, electrical systems, and other equipment across multiple locations.
- Ordering chemicals and monitoring water chemistry.
- Troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
- Managing chemical supplies, inventory, and tracking usage and costs.
- Scheduling deliveries of supplies and coordinating with vendors.
- Completing monthly reports in city software and managing data reporting.
- Regularly inspecting the facility for hazardous conditions.
- Supervising aquatic center staff.
- Assisting in the scheduling of desk clerks, lifeguards, and other operational duties.
- Assisting in organizing group events and promotional activities at the aquatic center.
- Supporting aquatic programs and assisting with front desk duties and event setups.
- Providing training for pool staff.
- Advertising and promoting activities associated with the aquatic center.
- Responding to public inquiries and addressing customer concerns.
- Enforcing safety rules and promoting safety practices among employees.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong desire to learn and grow in aquatic management.
- Prior experience in an aquatic environment or recreation setting is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to obtain First Aid, CPR, Lifeguard certification, and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification (training provided).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Must be a team player with excellent customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
