What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Outreach & Engagement Liaison position at City of Saint Paul?
The City of Saint Paul Public Works Department is hiring an individual as part of the Communications and Community Engagement Team to assist with customer service and community outreach and engagement on Public Works construction projects. This individual will provide support for planning, project management, communications, and lead Public Works community engagement efforts for city construction projects. This individual will manage multiple projects, timelines, and deadlines, while regularly organizing, analyzing, and communicating detailed and complex information to internal and external audiences.
Here's what you can expect to do:- Support development and implementation of Public Works community engagement and communication plans for upcoming and current construction projects.
- Creating and editing content for emails and webpages, organizing and facilitating community meetings and events, developing presentations and handouts, and gathering data and feedback.
- Manage department event calendar and Public Works attendance at in-person and virtual community events and meetings throughout the year and manage event and outreach materials.
- Serve as a primary customer service agent for Public Works projects, including construction activities to respond to resident and business questions and inquiries.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and businesses.
- Perform entry level professional work providing administrative and management support services.
- Assist management by providing business support services for projects and programs.

This position is Monday - Friday and is expected to work a minimum of three days in our office located at 60 West Sycamore, Saint Paul. Some evening and weekend hours may be required (which will be scheduled in advance) to attend community meetings and events.

A Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Information Systems, Management, Business Management, or closely related field. Acceptable, related degrees may be specified by the requirements of each hiring department.A combination of education and experience to equal 4 years or more can be used to qualify for the position.
