What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Consultant II position at City of Saint Paul?
Come join our team! The City of Saint Paul is hiring for a Human Resources Consultant. We currently have a vacancy working as a generalist in the Department of Public Works.
Here’s what you can expect to do:
- Provides guidance to hiring managers and/or reviews applications, creates interview questions and participates in interviews, negotiates employment terms in consultation with department leadership, creates offer letters, and onboards new employees.
- Understands and provides guidance to department staff regarding HR laws and policies, including labor contracts, payroll, benefits, Earned Safe and Sick Time, leaves of absence, FMLA, performance management, workers compensation, and accommodations under the ADA.
- Maintains department personnel records, updates policies, pulls data from the HR Payroll ERP system and creates reports in Excel, responds to data requests.

Requirements may be met by one of the following:
- Six years of experience in Human Resources.
- An Associate’s Degree can be substituted for two years of experience.
- A Bachelor’s Degree can be substituted for four years of experience.
A Masters Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations can be substituted for an additional two years of experience.

Salary : $69,701 - $91,686
