What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheet Metal Inspector position at City of Saint Paul?
The City of Saint Paul Department of Safety and Inspections is hiring an individual to perform full-performance inspections to ensure that sheet metal installations involving heating and ventilation are done according to approved plans and specifications and in accordance with pertinent portions of the Minnesota State Building Code.
Here's What You Can Expect To Do
High School or Vocational School Diploma and possession of an official certificate evidencing the completion of an apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker, such as is issued by the State of Minnesota, and five years of experience as a journey-level sheet metal worker.
Or, a High School or Vocational School Diploma and eleven years of experience in sheet metal work, at least seven years of which must have been as a journey-level sheet metal worker.Â
Must possess a Certificate of Competency issued by the City of Saint Paul or the City of Minneapolis as a journey-or master-level warm air and ventilation worker.
Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License, or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.Â

- Witness tests of mechanical installations, equipment, and materials.Â
