The City of Salem Public Works Department is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the Engineering Division. What you will do:
Engineering Contract Support Services currently has a full-time position open. The Program Coordinator position performs a variety of professional, technical, analytical, and administrative functions. Typical duties and work experience necessary to the position may include:
- Experience in public construction and contract administration.
- Ability to coordinate with other City Departments, Contractors, State, and Federal agencies.
- Knowledge of or familiarity with capital improvement projects.
- Perform administrative tasks for federally funded projects including preparing construction contract bid documents, processing payment documents and change orders, compliance tracking (i.e. disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Equal Opportunity Employment, etc.) wage compliance, project documentation and retention.
- Administrative support to the Engineering Division’s Consultant and Contractor of Record (COR) Program including coordination purchase orders, payments, purchase order adjustments, and database entry.
- Arrange and attend committee meetings, create and distribute agendas, record and prepare meeting minutes.
- Final reconciliation of capital improvement projects, performance metrics, and job costing.
- Support of other departments for Federal Davis-Bacon Compliance monitoring.
- General support including general correspondence, state and annual reporting, and support of purchasing functions of the Division.
- Experience writing processes and procedures.

What are the minimum qualifications?
- Must pass the pre-employment background check, and depending on area of assignment, may be required to pass a drug test (including marijuana).
- Have an Oregon class C driver's license and have a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of progressively responsible experience pertinent to area of assignment, or any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.
- One or more licenses or certifications in the assigned area may be desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of assigned program area preferred.
- Federal, state, and local laws, codes and rules as applicable to the program area preferred.
