What you will do:
Large installations, maintenance, repair, and construction activities or coordination of services related to stormwater collection and drainage systems including CCTV, hydro truck use, working with inmate crews, mechanical ditch cleanining and various other projects throughout the season.
Additional information on job responsibilities:
- Routinely operate small and medium construction equipment such as dump trucks, truck/trailer combinations, bobcats, loaders, forklifts, hydrocleaners, backhoe, crane trucks, etc.
- Routinely use other tools and equipment such as compressors, shovels, rakes, picks, tap machines, pressure cleaners, generators, jackhammers, compactors, chippers, etc. connected with work assignments.
- Occasionally operate other heavy construction equipment such as graders, caterpillars, tractored crane trucks, water truck, etc.

What are the minimum qualifications?
- Must pass the pre-employment background check, drug test (including marijuana) and physical abilities exam.
- Must have a Class A Commercial Oregon Driver's license with Tanker Endorsement and meet the City of Salem's driving standards., or able to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
- One-year general maintenance, repair, paving, or construction experience in street right-of-way, street maintenance, public works facilities, utility systems, and public improvements. Preference will be given to experience in public or private storm utility systems.
What you will bring along:
- CPR/AED Certification is preferred but not required.

The Urban Renewal Agency and the Salem Housing Authority are separate municipal corporations. The Agency contracts with the City for services and the Authority is led by the Housing Administrator within the Urban Development department.
