What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Assistant position at CITY OF SALEM TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS - CITY OF SALEM?
Performs semiskilled work ordering, receiving, processing, distributing, and accounting for materials and equipment, assisting with storeroom record keeping, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Fleet Management Superintendent.
Essential Functions
- Researches and orders parts as needed.
- Receives invoices and charges to appropriate department; reconciles credit card transactions and statements; assists with reports as needed.
- Prepares work orders and gathers information on needed repairs and meter readings; initiates independent issues for non-work order related parts and supplies.
- Prepares, analyzes, and reconciles current inventory; takes physical counts and records inventory.
- Receives and stocks incoming inventory; uses forklift as needed to load and unload trucks; pulls outgoing orders.
- Pulls orders for shop technicians, City offices, and janitorial staff; delivers and picks up orders; transports vehicles and drivers.
- Answers telephone and radio calls; monitors bus and street radios; communicates in person, writing, and by phone with City employees, outside vendors/salesmen, and the general public as needed.
- Schedules maintenance and repair work; assists the Superintendent as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
