Part-Time Transit Operator

As a Part Time Transit Operator in the City of Salisbury, you can make a difference! The City is seeking motivated candidates who will drive a 30-35 foot City transit bus on predetermined fixed routes within the Salisbury, Spencer, and East Spencer areas. Main responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, conducting daily operations with minimal supervision, and accurately accounting for riders and other statistical data. Must be available to work any shift Monday – Friday 5:40 am – 8:00 pm and Saturday between 9:05 am – 4:00 pm. Number of work hours and schedule will vary. Join our team for a rewarding career!
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Must have a valid NC Class B Commercial Driver’s License (with passenger endorsement) and a good driving record
- Must have a working telephone service, reliable transportation and be able to respond to job calls on short notice
- Experience with bus driving and heavy equipment operating preferred

Hourly Rate: $13.28 - $16.44/hr
$500.00 sign-on bonus after 90 sign-on bonus paid as a one-time lump sum after working 90 hours during their probationary period.
