About Field Operations
The Department of Field Operations is comprised of nine teams and 50 fulltime employees. These teams include Events, Fleet, Marina, Parking, Parks, Sanitations, Signals and Lighting, Special Projects, and Streets. Commonly known as Public Works in many jurisdictions, this department is tasked with ensuring Salisbury is welcoming and inviting to residents and visitors alike.
Position Summary
The Field Ops Tech I primarily performs semi-skilled and skilled manual work functions such as pavement repairs, cleaning of storm sewers and inlets, the set up of work zone traffic control and assisting with special events. Activities include but are not limited to maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, municipal streets and parks. Candidate must be able to operate various types of equipment, specialty tools, machinery and commercial vehicles safely.
Preferred Experience
At least two years of experience performing general construction work
Preferred Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Requirements/Certification
Valid driver’s license.
Must be able to obtain Class B license within one year.
