We are currently seeking:
A Human Resources Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide confidential administrative support to the Director of HR/Risk Management and/or other assigned personnel; coordinate administrative operations for Human Resources and Risk Management; prepare and process various types of correspondence, reports, and other documentation; maintain departmental records and files; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing clerical operations and activities for area of assignment.
- Answering, screening, and directing incoming calls; documenting and distributing phone messages.
- Greeting and directing visitors to appropriate City departments and/or personnel.
- Providing information and assistance to the public; responding to inquiries regarding departmental operations, policies, programs, and/or services; receives public complaints.
- Performing data entry; updating and maintaining departmental records, personnel files, forms, procedure manuals, filing systems, and/or databases; copying and/or scanning information for public information requests and assisting with destruction of records as assigned.
- Processing and distributing departmental mail and packages.
- Providing confidential administrative support to the Director, Assistant Director and Manager and/or other departmental personnel.
- Hours: Monday through Friday, hours may vary based on department and applicant's needs

Requirements and Skills:
- Providing confidential administrative support at the senior management level.
- Coordinating clerical operations and activities for area of assignment.
- Preparing and processing various types of correspondence and other documentation.
- Updating and maintaining departmental records, filing systems, and databases.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other staff, City departments, outside agencies, organizations and the general public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; and experience providing administrative support to senior management personnel; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a standard office environment.
- Subject to sitting for extended periods of time, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds.
