What are the responsibilities and job description for the AIRPORT MAINTENANCE WORKER position at City of San Angelo Texas?

We are currently seeking:
An airport maintenance worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to the daily operations at the San Angelo Regional Airport; maintain operational records and files; conduct a variety of janitorial and maintenance functions; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing semiskilled general labor work in cleaning and maintaining buildings and grounds at San Angelo Regional Airport - Mathis Field (SJT).
- Mopping, waxing, and stripping floors; vacuuming carpets in lobby and waiting areas, including in secured areas of the airport, watering and cutting grass.
- General facility maintenance and repair duties, including light carpentry, conduit and wiring, minor maintenance on mowers, vehicles and other machinery, replacement of air filters on HVAC units, maintenance of outside lighting, and general knowledge of HVAC units as needed.
- Inspecting grounds and facilities to determine maintenance needs, reviewing building maintenance and repair requests, planning and prioritizing projects; coordinating maintenance and repair work with contractors and City departments as needed.
- Performing job site inspections of ongoing and completed work assignments; assuring timely completion of projects to minimize disruption.
- Enforcing all safety rules and regulations to minimize risk of accidents and enhance the safety of employees and visitors.
- Performing maintenance and repairs of City airport facilities and grounds, in compliance with applicable Federal and state regulations: working independently and making proper decisions using sound judgment.
- Operating equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures; identifying and reporting mechanical problems requiring additional repair.
- Inspecting, and cleaning trucks and equipment; identifying and reporting mechanical problems requiring additional repair.
- Completing required daily logs and reports.
- Promptly reporting emergency situations and implementing response procedures.
- Hours: Sunday through Thursday, 3:00 pm to 12:00 am, with weekends and holidays, schedules are subject to change.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.

Requirements and Skills:
- Identifying maintenance needs and prioritizing repair and maintenance projects.
- Supervising staff, delegating tasks and authority, and evaluating staff performance.
- Promoting and enforcing safe work practices.
- Performing a wide variety of skilled and semiskilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of airport facilities.
- Safe operation of trucks, tools and equipment according to airport operating and safety procedures.
- Operating and maintaining tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Closely following verbal and written instructions and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- A valid driver license with a good driving record is required.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
- Must be able to successfully pass a 10-year Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessment.
- Licensing and technical certifications in the building trades are preferred and may be required.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Work is performed in an outdoor and indoor environment.
- Subject to sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of objects up to 82 pounds.
- Driving on active airport movement areas.
- Exposure to potentially hostile members of the public is involved.
