Job Summary
Under general direction, is responsible for performing professional level work planning, coordinating, implementing, and overseeing activities of the City's Economic Development Programs. Coordinates marketing efforts to promote the City's economic incentive programs.Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment. May exercise supervision over assigned staff.

Essential Job Functions
- Establish and improve connections with San Antonio businesses within targeted industries, and provide appropriate resources to encourage additional investment.
- Build competency within particular industries in order for the City to stay abreast of industry issues and opportunities. Become a known point of assistance within assigned industries throughout San Antonio.
- Provide research and analysis for economic development projects as related to economic development incentives and City assistance.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed, including research, presentation development (both visual and written), briefings, and general assistance.
- Regularly update the economic development project management system and various project-related documents and reports.
- As needed, provide assistance with international business development and related initiatives.
- Assist with collaborations between the economic development department and its partner organizations and local industry liaisons to support the positioning of San Antonio as it pertains to economic development, trade, and investment.
- Prepare and maintain performance and statistical reports, as well as cost benefit analysis.
- Assist with the development and delivery of presentations, meeting preparation documents, and the development of project and initiative related speaking points.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in
Administration, Procurement, Management, or a related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in economic development or related activities.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

- Knowledge of Federal government contract process to include Federal packaging requirements, engineering drawing requirements, quality assurance, and market analysis.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of budget development and administration.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting, finance, and economics.
- Knowledge of principles of marketing research and media relations.
- Knowledge of bond laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of Federal regulations related to loan and bond programs.
- Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.
- Ability to interpret and apply applicable City policies, procedures, rules and regulations, and program measures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, external agencies, and the general public.
- Ability to evaluate and develop improvements in operations, procedures, policies, and methods.
- Ability to make presentations before public and private agencies, and other organizations.
- Ability to assist in preparing in-depth comprehensive reports to Federal agencies.
- Ability to prepare proposals for corporate funding and grant applications.
